PSLE Science Tuition in Hougang
PSLE Science tuition for Primary 5 and 6 students at 212 Hougang Street 21, a 3-minute walk from Kovan MRT. At most 6 students per class, 2-hour lessons, $80 a lesson. (For Primary 3 and 4, see Primary Science tuition.)
What the PSLE tests
The PSLE Science paper covers every topic from Primary 3 to 6, with multiple-choice and open-ended questions. Open-ended answers are marked by keywords: an answer that is almost right but misses the key scientific word loses the mark. Many questions are built around an experiment the student has never seen before.
What we cover
Primary 5 and 6 topics (MOE 2023 syllabus):
Revision of the Primary 3 and 4 topics: Living and Non-Living Things, Materials, Magnets, Life Cycles, Matter, Human System, Digestive System, Plant System, Heat and Light. Schools teach chapters in different orders, so we follow your child's school.
How we prepare students
- Notes, then Worksheets 1, 2 and 3 for every chapter, with Extra Practice and a Challenging Worksheet for students ready for more.
- Marking schemes with keywords, showing exactly which words earn each mark.
- Experiment questions: identifying the variable, what to keep the same, and how to explain the result.
- School prelim papers under timed conditions in the final months.
How every lesson works
Every class has at most 6 students and lasts 2 hours. Each topic follows the Outclass Approach: Understand, Apply, Master, Perform, and your child moves on only when ready. After every lesson, parents see the topic, the stage reached and a tutor's note in our parent app, with a monthly progress report.
Frequently asked questions
How do I help my child score AL1 or AL2 in PSLE Science?
Secure the keywords for every topic, practise explaining experiment results in full sentences, and revise the Primary 3 and 4 topics, which still make up part of the paper.
My child knows the content but loses marks on open-ended questions. Why?
Usually the answer misses a keyword or doesn't link cause and effect. We train students to answer in the structure mark schemes reward.
Does PSLE Science test Primary 3 and 4 topics?
Yes. The PSLE covers Primary 3 to 6, so we revise the earlier topics alongside the Primary 5 and 6 ones.
How much are lessons?
